Keeping Live Invertebrates – A Look At My Collection

Many people who are interested in insects and their kin find it enjoyable to keep living invertebrates as pets. There are a slew of reasons to consider keeping invertebrates, (And I recommend you do!) the point of this post is to give my readers a list of invertebrates that I am keeping. (And have kept.) I recommend you read this wonderful blog post before you read on if you are unfamiliar with the concept of keeping Arthropods.

I will list my collection under the following key:

You will see numbers before each species. Ex: 1.1.3 Asbolus verrucosus

This is a way of inventorying different species based on gender. The numbers correspond to: Males.Females.Unsexed. Each number respectively refers to the number of male, female, and unsexed individuals of each species I keep. If you see three X’s in a row, (X.X.X) it means that the number of individuals of that species I own are uncountable. You could also intemperate that as meaning that that species has been established in a large colony.
